Half of the people on Twitter don’t tweet

More than half of people on Twitter have no followers, more than half don’t follow anyone, and more than half of people registered on Twitter have never used Twitter to send a tweet.

Additionally, the online marketing firm Hubspot found that people are failing to take full advantage of Twitter’s SEO opportunities —

  • 80% of users failed to provide a homepage URL
  • 76% have not entered a bio in their profile
  • 69% have not specified a location

However, those who do use Twitter actively tweet about once a day, commonly during business hours.
