We’re a social bunch — we social media enthusiasts!

A bunch of social media savvy folks being social at Fletcher Prince (Karen Haines, Lisa Schaefer, and Robert Udowitz)

Do you post routinely on Facebook and Twitter? Did you ever wonder if there was a correlation between your online and offline socialability?

Guess what?  There is! (I thought so, too.)

A new survey by the Pew Research Center’s Internet and American Life Project reveals that 80% of people who are active online also participate in some kind of organized group, versus 56% of non-Internet users.  (Download the study)

But doesn’t it kind of beg the question, who doesn’t go online? Seriously, I would like to know.  Babies, maybe?

Social media users are even more likely to be active: 82% of social network users (like Facebook) and 85% of Twitter users are group participants.
